Arturo Nelson, owner of Aqasports has been skiing since 1979 and achieved a career best of 8th place at the world championships in Italy in 1999. He developed the Mexican Jr. Team and the Mexican wakeboard association.
In 2005 Arturo moved to Miami and started a training center at the Greater Miami Ski Club. During the next 5 years he gave over 10,000 lessons to skiers from over 25 different countries. Among those, Mr. Dennis Longo, US National Overall Champion and Natalia Blanch, 2nd Place Slalom at the +35 Worlds in 2010. He was also the mexican national team's head coach for the Panamerican Games in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2011.
In 2011 he partnered with Miguel Maraña, an industrial engineer who has trained with Arturo for the last 13 years with a personal best of 1 @ 39 off, and Ramon Quintana, a prominent business man in Mexico and the 2011 Mexican National Slalom Champion Senior 2.
Together they were able to acquire the property where the aqalake is conveniently located only 15 minutes from downtown Miami, where they train everyday and develop the future of our sport.
