Wake the World (WTW) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are a group of boat owners providing watersports opportunities (waterski, wakeboard, disabled, barefoot, etc) to abandoned, abused and neglected children, as well as for the handicapped and our wounded warriors.
WTW began in 2008 with 8 families providing a day on the lake for some residents of a local children's home.
In 2013, WTW became the largest all volunteer organization of its kind, with over 300 volunteered boats world-wide!
We strive to make these events as easy as possible to host, and have a network of boat volunteers and sponsors to help support each event. We also provide insurance and liability waivers for every local event.
All WTW events are sanctioned and insured through the WWA (World Wakeboard Association).
There are 11 additional WTW events being scheduled for 2016. Eastern Michigan, South Carolina, Central Oregon, Detroit Lake Oregon, Lane County Oregon, Indiana, Lake Anna Virginia, Bullards Bar California, Minnesota, Florida & Taiwan!
In 2015, there were Wake the World events in 26 states and Canada!
In 2016, there will be more than 40 events in 28 states + Canada, over 400 boats and countless volunteers over the next year!!!
